The Beginning of a Visionary Journey
At the young age of 15, Mr. Mirza Ghias Ahmed, along with his four brothers, traveled to Kuwait to begin his professional journey. He started humbly, working as a helper in a furniture manufacturing company. His dedication, technical mindset, and hard work laid the foundation for a lifetime of innovation.
Return to Pakistan – Birth of “Mirza Weaving”
After gaining valuable experience abroad, Mr. Ghias returned to Pakistan in 1965 and established a small weaving unit under the name “Mirza Weaving” with power looms. Over the years, the number of looms steadily increased, expanding his footprint in the textile sector.
Expansion into Export
In 1967, he started exporting suiting fabrics and fruits to his brother’s company in Kuwait, marking the beginning of his export journey.
Birth of “Mirza Gloves MFG.”
Mr. Ghias launched “Mirza Gloves Mfg.”, a Glove manufacturing unit. He revolutionized the local glove industry by being the first person in Pakistan to import a fabric hand-cutting machine, at a time when gloves were still being cut manually with scissors.
Going Global – “State Protective Clothing Company”
In 1981, Mr. Ghias established an export-oriented company, State Protective Clothing Company, and shipped his first gloves consignment to Germany. This marked the true beginning of international recognition.
Formation of the State Textiles Group
Within three years, he established six more companies, collectively forming the “State Textiles Group of Companies”, which became one of the largest glove exporters from Pakistan during the 1980s.
• Major Glove Quota Holder for the USA
• Exported Millions of Gloves to countries like USA, Germany, Malta, England, and over 20 other countries.
Transition Period
Due to unforeseen circumstances, State Protective Clothing Company ceased operations.
